Eid-el-Kabir: Tinubu Urges Patience, Says Toughest Days Are Over as Economic Reforms Take Hold
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians to remain patient and steadfast, assuring them that the nation’s toughest days are over as his administration’s economic reforms begin to yield tangible results.
In his 2025 Eid-el-Kabir message, the President congratulated Muslims in Nigeria and across the world, encouraging citizens to reflect on the values of sacrifice, devotion, and resilience embodied by the Islamic festival.
“While this festival is marked with joy and celebration, its true significance lies much deeper: Eid calls us to reflect on its core values of sacrifice, devotion, and selflessness,” Tinubu said. “Let this sacred occasion renew our commitment to these ideals.”
The President acknowledged the hardship experienced during the economic transition but emphasized that the reforms were already showing signs of progress. He expressed confidence that Nigeria is entering a new era of hope and prosperity.
“Though the journey has not been easy, and some doubted our direction, the resilience of public and private sector leaders, along with the steadfast support of most Nigerians, is yielding results,” he stated. “I assure you that the toughest days are behind us.”
Tinubu reassured citizens that his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda is designed to transform lives and build a sustainable future, not just improve statistics. He reiterated his commitment to ensuring that the benefits of economic growth are felt by all.
“As we celebrate today, remember that Eid-el-Kabir enjoins love, compassion, and generosity for all, regardless of faith or background,” he added. “Let us care for one another’s well-being during this season and always.”
Reflecting on recent tragedies, Tinubu offered condolences to victims of the May 28 flooding in Mokwa, Niger State, which caused deaths and widespread damage. He called on citizens to support relief efforts and pray for the affected families.
The President also urged continued prayers for Nigeria’s security personnel and leaders at all levels, encouraging unity and shared purpose as the nation charts its course forward.
“May the joy and blessings of Eid-ul-Adha multiply in our lives and the life of our great nation,” he concluded.
The message comes at a critical time as the country grapples with economic and social challenges, with Tinubu reaffirming his administration’s resolve to stay the course for national transformation.
