Suspended Governor Fubara Promises Democracy’s Grand Comeback in Rivers State

Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has declared that democracy is only on a short break — and will be making a triumphant return to Rivers State very soon.

Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, on Thursday, Fubara praised President Bola Tinubu for what he described as a well-timed intervention that saved the state from what he called “looming political chaos.”

Fubara, who met with leaders and stakeholders of the Simplified Movement in celebration of his two years in office, assured everyone that the political drama was winding down and a “reunion episode” between the Executive and Legislative arms was on the horizon.

“Democracy and good governance will soon return to the state, with both arms working together for the good of the people,” Fubara said, apparently referring to a reconciliation effort involving himself, his deputy, and all suspended members of the State House of Assembly.

The governor expressed optimism that the old camaraderie in the state’s political structure would be restored and encouraged everyone to embrace peace — and forgiveness — as the way forward.

“Let’s be honest — without the President’s intervention, we’d probably be starring in a full-blown political horror movie by now,” Fubara quipped.

He urged Rivers residents to thank President Tinubu for “acting with wisdom at the right time,” crediting him with preventing further instability.

Fubara called on all parties involved to descend from their “high horses” and focus on what really matters — the peace and progress of Rivers State.

“It’s not about personal pride. The state’s future is what’s at stake here,” he said.

The reconciliation process, he noted, is ongoing, and with the cooperation of all stakeholders, Rivers State will soon return to normal governance — with both democracy and good vibes restored.
