Heartbreak: Benue Mourns as Mass Burial Held for Victims of Deadly Fulani Herdsmen Attack (Video)

In a somber and emotional ceremony, the Otobi Akpa community in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State laid to rest ten victims of a brutal filani herdsmen attack on Sunday, April 27, 2025.

The tragic incident, which took place on April 15, 2025, left the community devastated, with families and friends of the deceased gathered to pay their final respects amidst tears and grief.

The mass burial is being conducted at Methodist Primary School, Otobi Akpa, where mourners filled the air with heart-wrenching cries of sorrow.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chairman of Otukpo LGA, Hon. Maxwell Ogiri, expressed deep sorrow, describing the day as “the saddest in the history of the community.” He offered words of comfort to the bereaved families and called for collective prayers for peace and healing.
