EFCC Confirms Arrest of Martins Vincent Otse Over Alleged Financial Crimes
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has confirmed that Martins Vincent Otse was invited for questioning following a series of petitions accusing him of various financial crimes. Despite multiple invitations sent through his known addresses and communication channels, Otse failed to honour them.
According to the Commission, the petitions involve serious allegations of financial misconduct that could not be overlooked. In response, the EFCC lawfully arrested Otse and obtained the necessary Remand Order to hold him in custody while investigations are ongoing.
The Commission noted that although Otse has made several unguarded public attacks against its operations, these did not influence his arrest. It emphasized that other relevant agencies may address those actions appropriately.
Otse has since been granted administrative bail and will be released upon meeting the stated conditions. The EFCC reaffirmed its commitment to due process and assured the public that once investigations are concluded, formal charges will be filed.
The Commission expressed appreciation for public interest in its work and urged Nigerians to allow it to carry out its responsibilities without distraction or undue suspicion.
