Benue Massacre Is Genocide, Not Clashes – Hon. Asema Achado Slams Tinubu’s Statement
Hon. Asema Achado, a member of the House of Representatives, has strongly criticized the Presidency’s recent response to the killings in Benue State, describing it as disappointing and lacking empathy.
Reacting to the statement issued from the Presidential Villa, Hon. Achado expressed dismay over the tone and content of the message, especially in light of the mass killing of over 200 people in Yelwata.
“The statement from the Villa is disappointing. Over 200 people were killed in Yelwata and there is no empathy in the statement,” he said.
Hon. Achado, who is a member of the Benue National Assembly Caucus, called for a more proactive and assertive response from lawmakers representing the state. He further urged the exploration of alternative legal and international avenues to seek justice and global attention.
“What is happening in Benue is GENOCIDE, not skirmishes or clashes,” he declared.
