Tinubu Submits N1.48 Trillion Emergency Budget for Rivers to National Assembly

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sent a budget proposal totaling N1.48 trillion for Rivers State to the National Assembly for urgent consideration and approval.

The move comes following the nullification of the state’s 2025 budget by the Supreme Court and the imposition of emergency rule in the state.

In the proposed budget, infrastructure takes the largest allocation with N324 billion, followed by health at N166 billion. Education is allocated N75.6 billion, while agriculture receives N31.4 billion.

President Tinubu emphasized that the agricultural sector alone is projected to create approximately 6,000 jobs. He urged lawmakers to expedite the passage of the budget to ensure stability and continued development in Rivers State.
